What Shapes Your Bridal Hair and Makeup Cost?
You have a lot of questions as you plan your wedding. One of the biggest is about cost. Here is an open, honest look at what shapes the quote for your hair and makeup, so you can plan with confidence.
Understanding the bridal hair and makeup cost is a key part of your wedding planning. It is a question I get from almost every bride, and I believe in being completely open about how it works. When you ask, “how much is bridal hair and makeup?” the honest answer is, it depends on your unique celebration.
My name is Sana, and SKS Salon is a South Asian bridal hair and makeup team in Northern Virginia with 15+ years of my personal bridal experience. We know that no two weddings are the same. This is especially true for the beautiful, multi-day weddings we specialize in, from Indian and Pakistani to South Indian traditions.
So instead of a price list, I want to walk you through the factors that shape your personal quote. My goal is for you to feel clear and confident, knowing exactly what to expect. This is one part of your wedding you do not have to worry about.
Your Wedding is a Week, Not Just a Day
Your wedding week is not a single day. It is a joyful, vibrant series of events that can span several days, and your hair and makeup plan needs to account for each one.
The main events we plan for are your Sangeet, Wedding day, and Reception. Your celebration might also include a Mehndi party or Engagement photos. Each event requires a distinct look, a different schedule, and careful planning.
A bride might want a soft, glowing look for her Sangeeet, a classic and traditional style for the ceremony, and a glamorous, modern feel for the Reception. The number of events is the biggest part of creating your beauty timeline and your final quote.
For You and Your Whole Family
On your wedding morning, you will be surrounded by the most important women in your life. Your mother, your sisters, your soon to be mother in law, and your bridesmaids all want to look and feel beautiful too.
Making sure your whole bridal party is taken care of is a huge part of what we do. When we discuss your quote, we will talk about the number of people in your family who will need hair and makeup.
This helps me create a schedule for the morning and know which artists from my team to bring. It is how we organize a calm, happy morning where everyone is ready on time for pictures. Your peace of mind is the most important thing.
What makes up a bridal hair and makeup package?
Your final look is more than just lipstick and an updo. It is a collection of services that come together to make you feel completely yourself. When we build your bridal hair and makeup package, we look at details like these.
- Hair and Makeup: Most brides choose to have both services, but we can create a plan for just hair or a bridal makeup package on its own.
- Dupatta and Saree Draping: Setting a heavy bridal dupatta or perfectly pleating a saree is an art. My team is experienced in dupatta setting and saree draping, so your look is secure and comfortable all day.
- Lashes and Accessories: We include complimentary lashes with all our makeup applications and can help with placing your tikka and other jewellery.
Every service you choose becomes part of your custom quote. You can see the full range of what we do on our services page.
The Bridal Preview: Our Creative Session
Your bridal preview is one of my favorite parts of the process. This is our time to connect, collaborate, and design your perfect wedding look. It takes place at my studio here in Northern Virginia.
During your preview, we will talk about your outfits, your personal style, and what you are dreaming of for your wedding week. We will try out styles until you look in the mirror and feel completely happy and confident.
This session is so important. It lets us perfect every detail, so on the morning of your wedding, you can simply relax. You know exactly how you are going to look and feel. It removes all the guesswork from the day.
We Come to You: The Logistics of Your Day
On your wedding day, my team and I come to you. Whether you are getting ready at home, in a hotel suite, or at your venue, we bring the entire salon experience. We work across Northern Virginia, DC and Maryland, and we travel for destination weddings too.
The logistics for your day are a key part of your quote. This includes:
- Travel: Your quote will account for the time and distance for my team to travel to your location for each event.
- Early Starts: Some ceremonies begin early. If your timeline requires us to start before sunrise, we plan for it. Our job is to work with your schedule, no matter what it is.
We handle all these details so you can focus on one thing, enjoying your day.
How we determine your bridal hair and makeup cost
So, how do we bring all this information together?
After we have a short conversation about your wedding, I create a single, simple quote for you.
This is not a long menu of separate line items. It is one clear, complete picture that covers your entire bridal experience. Your quote includes all the events we have planned for, the hair and makeup for you and your family, and all travel and timing considerations.
My clients tell me this approach brings them a great sense of relief. They have one plan and one point of contact. They can see the entire scope of their wedding beauty in one place. It makes everything simple, and that is the whole point.
