After all the planning, most conversations with my brides end in the same quiet moment. The big decisions are made, and then the real questions come out. The ones you might have been thinking about late at night, scrolling on your phone.

Here are my answers to those questions. I hope they make you feel a little calmer.

When should I book you?

The simple answer is as soon as you have your dates. Weekends in spring and fall can fill up quickly. But please, if your wedding is coming up soon, call me. Plans often change, and an opening might be there for you.

When you book, I encourage you to think about your whole wedding week. Events like the Sangeet, Wedding, and Reception feel more connected when one artist plans all the looks with you. Do I really need a preview?

Yes. A preview is so much more than just a practice run. It’s our time to make every decision together, quietly and without pressure. We’ll perfect your look so that on your wedding morning, we can simply relax and create it. No experiments, no guesswork, just a calm and happy start to your day.

Do you come to me?

Yes, on your wedding morning, we always come to you. We bring the full salon experience to your home, hotel, or venue. We work across Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland, and beyond.

Getting ready where you are is more than a convenience. It removes a car ride from the busiest part of your day, giving you more time to breathe. All I need is a small space with a table, a chair, and a plug socket.

Can you get my whole family ready too?

Of course. Helping you and your family get ready is what most of our wedding mornings look like. For larger bridal parties, I bring my trusted team, who I have trained myself. This ensures everyone is ready on time, feeling beautiful and relaxed.

We always make sure to schedule a separate time for dupatta setting and saree draping. It's an art in itself and should never be rushed at the end.

How will my makeup last all day?

Your wedding day might be fourteen hours long, with hot lights, lots of hugs, and maybe some happy tears. Your makeup is designed for that.

From the very first product I use, every step is about creating a look that lasts. The three things that can challenge makeup are transfer to fabric, creasing, and oiliness. We plan for all three. I will also prepare a small touch-up kit for you, with everything you need for the rest of the day.

Airbrush or traditional makeup?

Both are wonderful options, and I use both in my kit. We will decide together at your preview which one is best for your skin, your look, and your wedding week. What if I get a breakout before the wedding?

Please do not worry. A blemish on the wedding morning is completely normal, and it is a simple five minute fix for a professional. The best thing you can do is leave it alone.

In the weeks before your wedding, try to keep your skincare routine simple and consistent. This is not the time to try a new product, even if a well-meaning relative recommends it.

Stress can certainly affect our skin. Studies have shown a link between stress and acne, but every person is different.⁶ My best advice is to plan for a possible spot, and then let the worry go. For ongoing concerns like dark marks or acne, a dermatologist can help you make a long term plan.

What if I have sensitive skin?

Let me know when we meet for your preview. We can build your look using products from my kit that are made for sensitive skin, or you can bring your own trusted favorites. Your comfort is the priority.

If you have known allergies, a dermatologist can help you identify specific ingredients to avoid.² If you want to test a new product yourself, the American Academy of Dermatology suggests a simple patch test. Apply a small amount to your inner arm for a week to see how your skin reacts.³ This is best done months before your wedding.

What about false lashes?

Lashes complete a bridal look, and we have many options. At your preview, we can try strip lashes or individual lashes to see what feels most like you.

If you are considering extensions, it's wise to get them done by a trusted technician well before the wedding. This gives you time to get used to them. Always ask your technician about their training, their hygiene practices, and the ingredients in their glue.⁵ An allergic reaction to the glue is the most common issue, often causing redness or swelling on the eyelid.⁴ If you ever have a reaction that involves pain or changes to your vision, please see an ophthalmologist right away.

What should I do for my skin before the wedding?

My advice here is simple and maybe a little boring. Be consistent with your routine, and do not introduce new products close to your wedding date.

And please, moisturize. Healthy, hydrated skin holds makeup beautifully. A gentle cleanser and a good moisturizer can make a huge difference.⁸ Moisturize the night before your wedding, not right before I arrive. This gives it time to sink in and create the perfect canvas. What happens if something goes wrong?

This is the question every bride holds in her heart, so let's talk about it openly. I have a plan.

If I were unable to be there, a trusted artist from my team would take my place. They would have the detailed notes and photographs from your preview to create your exact look, perfectly. If your timeline gets squeezed, we adjust. If the lighting is poor, I bring my own.

How much does it cost?
